FAQ – Bay Area Super Series
Q: What is a good amount of players for this tournament?
A: 11-17 players plus a goalie is great for this tournament.
Q: While we have a ton of field lacrosse experience my players have never played Box before, should we enter this tournament?
A: Absolutely, this tournament is a great intro to the game and a ton of fun to play in. It’s fun, it’s safe and it’s a great event now in its 7th year.
Q: As coach, I’m a little apprehensive of sending my kids into a Box Lacrosse tournament. We don’t want injuries, we don’t want our kids fighting, we don’t want them being crushed into the boards. We don’t want to deal with our parents being upset.
A: We do understand, but these are common misconceptions of this game. USBOXLA has over 9000 players playing this game safely in the USA. In the Bay Area alone we have 140 players on our travel team – the Cali*Lax ALL-STARS and have almost 600 players in our NorCal Comp Box Lacrosse League in the fall – each one of these players and parents are having the time of their life. It’s a great game when done right. Our USBOXLA referees are the best and most experienced in the entire country, a big reason we hold the USBOXLA Nationals, the biggest and most competitive Box Lacrosse Tournament in the USA here in San Jose.
Q: When is the schedule released?
A: Games start Sunday May 28th at 8am and finish at 10pm Games start on Monday May 29th at 8:00am and finish at 3pm. The schedule will be released 1 week before the tournament on our real time schedule page.
Q: We don’t have Box goalie equipment, can we use some for the event?
A: Absolutely, we have a goalie equipment staging area at the venue staffed by our knowledgeable crew. They will get your goalies geared up in proper gear before the games and give them a few words of wisdom for between the pipe play.
